Although it is known that species specificity exist, virus types 1 and 2 can also induce fibroblast tumors in equines.
Cutaneous fibropapillomas usually appear before the age of two years and can be single or multiple. Most often they appear on the udder, teats, head, neck, shoulders and less frequently in omasum, genitalia and anus. They are benign and disappear spontaneously after a year of its appearance. These nodules frequently suffer small erosions or trauma wounds, form insect bites or deposition of fly larvae. The virus is easily transmitted between animals and through fomites, to prevent transmission affected animals should be separated from healthy ones.

Pigmented skin nodules near the nipples.

Hematoxylin-eosin staining photomicrograph of a papillae of one of the nodules in Figure 1.

A cross bred, 12 months old calf presented several papilliform nodules on the skin of the ventral regions, near the udder.

[171,249,243
367,404
post-4973","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bovine-2","category-neoplasia-bovine-2","category-skin-bovine-2","tag-neoplasia-en","tag-skin-en
["GET
