The lesions were found on the lips, around the eyes, ears and on the face skin. Meat inspectors suspected of Contagious ecthyma.<\/p>\n

Histopathology evidenced lesions compatible with chronic dermatophytosis with the presence of fungal elements in the hair follicles.<\/p>\n

Fungal infection by dermatophytes<\/strong> or ringworm<\/strong> is a zoonosis.<\/p>\n

Microbiological culture allowed the isolation and identification of Tricophyton verrucosum<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The differential diagnosis of these lesions includes Contagious ecthyma<\/a>, mange<\/a> and Goat pox (poxvirus).<\/p>\n
