{"id":5205,"date":"2014-03-10T08:57:33","date_gmt":"2014-03-10T07:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sesc.cat\/multiple-lesions-in-an-organic-chicken-carcass\/"},"modified":"2022-03-24T19:05:59","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T18:05:59","slug":"multiple-lesions-in-an-organic-chicken-carcass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sesc.cat\/en\/multiple-lesions-in-an-organic-chicken-carcass\/","title":{"rendered":"M\u00faltiple lesions in an organic chicken carcass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pathologic examination of the animal allowed to observe different types of lesion without any apparent link between them :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\tThe skin of the back had a multifocal ulcerative <strong>bacterial dermatitis<\/strong>, heterophilic and crusty,  moderate and chronic with abundant intralesional bacteria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The examination of the lesions in the tarsus revealed a<strong> viral arthritis<\/strong> with bilateral rupture of the gastrocnemius tendon and severe chronic tenosynovitis. This lesion is characteristic of <strong>avian reovirus<\/strong> infection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lesions on the comb corresponded to a hyperplastic and ulcerative severe, multifocal to diffuse<strong> dermatitis<\/strong> with intranuclear inclusion bodies. This type of lesion is indicative of a <strong>viral<\/strong> etiology.
