{"id":5313,"date":"2016-06-01T14:04:27","date_gmt":"2016-06-01T13:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sesc.cat\/pneumatosis-cystoides-intestinalis\/"},"modified":"2022-03-24T18:59:37","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T17:59:37","slug":"pneumatosis-cystoides-intestinalis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sesc.cat\/en\/pneumatosis-cystoides-intestinalis\/","title":{"rendered":"Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a hybrid breed, 6 months old, sow carcass multiple air-filled vesicles were observed in several fragments of the mesentery of the small intestine and in the mesenteric lymph nodes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This lesion is known as <strong>intestinal emphysema<\/strong> or <strong><em>Pneumatosis Cystoides intestinalis<\/em><\/strong>. This rare condition, detected in weaned pigs, is characterized by the presence of dilated lymphatic vessels in the mesentery and intestinal wall due to the presence of gas.
