Upon section yellowish and slightly mineralized lesions generated a suspicion of bovine tuberculosis.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The histopathological study evidenced lesions of<strong> bacterial pyogranulomatous lymphadenitis<\/strong>, with Splendore Hoeppli images evidencing the presence of intralesional bacteria. The suspicion of tuberculosis is therefore ruled out.<\/p>\n<p>Microbiological culture allowed a very abundant growth<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> of a bacteria phenotipically compatible with<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<strong><em>Pasteurella pneumotropica<\/em><\/strong> to be isolated from the lesioned tissues.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> In order to confirm this, the gene encoding 16S ribosomal RNA was sequenced and this sequence was compatible with <strong><em>Actinobacillus lignieresii<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Pasteurella pneumotropica<\/em> i<\/span>s a pathogen, usually opportunistic, described mainly in rodents, but cases have also been described in rabbits, dogs and cats.
