Basis for processing:

Consent of the data subject in order to transfer information related to queries made through the SESC’s online platform.
Need to execute a contract in order to manage queries to the SESC if such queries are submitted.

The IRTA, as the party responsible for the website, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, of 27 April, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (hereinafter, "GDPR"), and Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSICE), hereby informs you that it has implemented the necessary technical and organisational security measures to guarantee and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data entered. 

Purpose of processing

Your personal data will only be used for the following purposes, depending on the features of the website with which you have interacted and to which you have provided your personal data:

Sending answers to queries made through the SESC’s online platform, as well as sending associated laboratory reports.
Sending or requesting additional information needed to answer the queries.

We will not process your personal data for any purpose other than those described here except as required by the law or a court order.

Duration

The data from the previous section shall be kept for as long as they are necessary for the purposes of carrying out the activity or until the subject expresses his or her wish for them to be deleted, if this occurs first. 

Legitimate interest for processing

The legal basis for processing is the data subject's consent and, where applicable, the legal basis arising from the provision of a service.

Place where information is stored

The information provided is stored on the IRTA's servers or on those of suppliers and data processing companies whose servers are located in the European Union or are covered by the Privacy Shield.

Communication and transfer

The data provided may be communicated to public sector bodies and companies of the Government of Catalonia, as well as to data processing companies (such as service providers: marketing services, messaging services, agencies, distribution services with similar audiences, etc.), including companies in the EU.

International transfers outside the EU may also take place, in accordance with the prior notification and authorisation regime established in current legislation:

to countries or companies that are recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection; or
to countries that do not offer adequate protection, if the transfers are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Rights of data subjects

You may request to exercise the following rights with the IRTA by writing to the postal address on the masthead or by sending an email to dpo@irta.cat and attaching a photocopy of your DNI (Spanish ID card) or any other legally equivalent document, as required by law.

Rights

Right of access: allows the data subject to be aware of and obtain information about his or her personal data undergoing processing.

Right of rectification or erasure: allows for the correction of errors and modification of data that are inaccurate or incomplete.

Right of deletion: allows for data that are inappropriate or excessive to be deleted.

Right to object: the data subject's right not to have his or her personal data processed or to have the processing of said data stopped.

Restrictions on processing: flagging the personal data stored, with the aim of restricting the processing thereof in the future.

Data portability: the data being processed are made available to the data subject, so that he or she can freely provide them to another data controller.

The right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making for which the data subject has not given his or her consent (including profiling).

The right not to be subject to a decision based on automated processing which produces effects or has a significant impact.

The right to withdraw the consent given at any time.

The data subject also has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if he or she believes that his or her data protection rights may have been violated.

Security

The IRTA, acknowledging the trust placed in it and taking into account the protection and confidentiality that the user's personal data require, hereby informs you that it has taken all the technical and organisational measures necessary to safeguard the security of the said data, as required by the current regulation governing the rules for security measures in relation to files containing personal data.

Cookies

Cookies are text files that are downloaded onto the user's terminal equipment (computer, tablet, mobile phone, etc.), stored in the browser memory and that store information about the habits, preferences and behaviour of internet users who visit a given website.

The data contained in the cookies may be analysed by the IRTA to improve the usability of the websites and offer more personalised information and services.

The browsing data collected by the cookies are anonymous and are not associated with any individual. Personal information must be explicitly provided to the IRTA by the user.
