Dermatitis fúngica en un pollastre
La pell està incrementada de gruix i les plaques son toves, groguenques al tall i d’aspecte edematós amb la presència de petits nòduls de 2-3 mm de diàmetre. L’estudi histopatològic evidencia lesions inflamatòries de tipus granulomatós. Es realitza una tinció de Grocott que permet identificar la presència d’hifes al centre dels granulomes. S’estableix, per tant, un diagnòstic de dermatitis granulomatosa fúngica.

Our pathologist answer: Unfortunately we did not process any samples for fungal culture.
It is the first time we diagnose this in a chicken, “organic chicken” pathology is an emerging field here, so we cannot give you previous results. However the lesion type is suggestive of a Zygomicoses.
