Perirrenal nodule in a pigs carcass

Histopathological examination revealed a neoplastic proliferation of the adrenal gland consistent with a pheochromocytoma (proliferation of the adrenal medulla cells). The kidney sample examined had lesions of chronic interstitial nephritis.

The microscopic features of cells (anaplasia, high mitotic index) and the presence of other nodules (metastases) indicate that it is a malignant neoplasm.

A full characterization of this neoplasms has been published here: Malignant pheochromocitoma in a pig.
