Scabby lesions on the skin of cattle.

The meat inspectors suspect of scabies.

Both histopathology and direct observation of the hair (after treatment with potassium hydroxide to soften them) allows the observation of features of dermatophytosis fungal structures (ringworm). It associates to a marked epidermal hyperplasia and intense hyperkeratosis mixed with an inflammatory infiltrate of the dermis.
