This edition of the "What is your diagnosis?" section is dedicated to one of the most frequent consultations we have at SESC, suspected tuberculosis. Every year, suspected TB accounts for 30% of the consultations received. Regardless of the incidence of TB at the time, quite consistently, an average of 50% of the suspicions received are confirmed year after year. However, the Spanish agriculture ministry has set a remission rate of non-tuberculous granulomas of 0.17 per thousand slaughtered cattle and, in Catalonia, we always remain well below. Therefore, once again, we encourage you to submit for laboratory analysis all those lesions macroscopically compatible with tuberculosis, not only in cattle, but also in other domestic reservoirs of the disease such as small ruminants and, from game meat processing rooms, wild boars.
