Red nodule in the atrioventricular valves of a pig

Histopathology evidenced a cystic cavity covered by a thick connective tissue capsule containing plasma and erythrocytes. Similar lesions to the one observed macroscopically were seen but of smaller diameter. A diagnosis of valvular hematic cysts was established. It is most probably a congenital lesion with no pathological significance that might end up being completely reabsorved.
