Miliary nodular lesions in the heart of a lamb.

Histologically these lesions consisted of granulomas with a calcified necrotic center with a moderate presence of eosinophilic polymorphonuclear leukocytes. This lesion is highly suggestive of a parasitic infestation, so it's probably Cysticercus ovis, the larval stage of Taenia ovis.

Additionally sarcosporidiosis cysts were observed, those however in this case do no cause macroscopic lesions nor are associated with the granulomatous lesions described.
