White spotted rabbit livers

Histopathological examination showed areas of granulomatous inflammation with abundant epithelioid macrophages surrounding a necrotic center with presence of multinucleated giants cells. These lesions involved the liver capsule and the superficial parenchyma and are strongly suggestive of parasitic migration tracts of Cysticercus pisiformis, the larval stage of Taenia pisiformis which is commonly found in rabbits. The final hosts are dogs and cats.

You can read about other differential diagnosis for these type of lesions here: Multifocal whitish lesions in the liver of rabbits.

Multiple white spots in the diaphragmatic side of the liver. Some of them confluent.

Interesting picture. Twice I have spotted the Cysticercus pisiformis on the surface of rabbits liver. It is quite clear that the liver is not fit for nor human nor animal use and is condemned, but how should the carcass be evaluated? As preventive measurement what do you suggest? e.g. dogs should not be allowed in rabbit houses and strict feed hygiene for the rabbit feed?
